I always purchase adjustable waist shorts for my son because I need to cinch them in to the 3rd or 4th button (GAP and Lands End uniform shorts).Although he is average height and weight, he cant keep up sweatpants etc.....
These shorts were snug around the waist with no adjustment.
The fabric is stiff.
The cut is very cute though..

These shorts would be great for somebody who is looking for "Slims" even though they are not marked as slim.

My son is 44 inches tall and weighs 42 lb.
