(More customer reviews)This axe is a great dissapointment because it is so near to being great. The weight and feel is good. Sits heavy in the hand and is almost perfectly balanced toward the middle of the handle so it is easily directed. The handle is some kind of plastic riveted to the steel shaft of the axe.The front and back edges of the handle hurt your grip as there are sharp ridges that really should have been eliminated. The axe headis a perfect design for fighting except that there are NO SHARP EDGES at all. They have roughed out a beautiful design with a lower hook on the leading blade edge along with a nice sharp point. The other end of the axe head has a nice downwardly hooking point with provision for a blade edge on the under side of the blade point. However as sold now it is strictly a display item. Too bad because they even have a unique approach to the scabbard which allows quick one handed extraction of the axe. I own it but would not purchase it again unless they give it real edges. Then I would rate it at 4 stars assuming they also filed down the handle.
